I came to believe in Jesus Christ at a very young age. I was about nine years old when I heard a preacher on the radio preaching about Jesus and I believed. I received the Holy Spirit in the summer of 1979 and was baptized in water in the summer of 1980. This sequence of events is evident of my shy and private nature. I really don’t like to talk to people and I prefer to be alone in my thoughts. Of course, this type of personality is not such a good thing in this selling yourself, profit motive society, but I will survive.
But I do love to write. From the earliest days of my Christian walk, I have been writing down the things the Spirit of God has been putting in my heart. In the days before word processors and computers, I would write these thoughts into notebooks. Unfortunately, I did not appreciate the potential importance of those writings as the days went by. Many of my writing have been lost.
I was also putting these thoughts into songs. Songs are easier to remember and my songs have been better preserved than my other writings. Fortunately, the songs covered most of the thoughts that I had written in the lost notebooks. So, even thought the notebooks are gone, I can share the things God put in my heart through song.
That is what I want to do. I am very thankful for the blogging technology that has emerged over the last few years. I can now share my thoughts through blogs and songs and they will not be lost before anyone gets to read them.
